Congratulatory Message

Zali’s office can arrange for Warringah residents to receive a personal message of congratulations for special birthdays or wedding anniversaries.

Depending on the event, the message will come from either the Prime Minister, Governor-General or the King.

Qualifying for a Congratulatory Message

Australians can receive a message from the Prime Minister:

  • on their 50th wedding anniversary and every year after
  • on their 90th birthday and every year after

Australians can receive a message from the Governor-General:

  • on their 50th wedding anniversary and every year after
  • on their 100th birthday and every year after

Australians can receive a message from The King:

  • on their 60th wedding anniversary and every fifth year after
  • on their 100th birthday and every fifth year after

Requesting a message

Please apply at least two months before the event to ensure you receive your certificate in time. A new application is required for each certificate – they are not sent automatically. You can also request a message after an event.

Step One:

Gather supporting documentation for the event that clearly shows the full name of the person celebrating and the date of the anniversary. This can be a birth certificate, marriage certificate or passport.

If you don’t have the documents, please fill out a statutory declaration form and have it witnessed. Forms can be downloaded from the Attorney General’s website or any post office.

Step Two:

If you need help, please email [email protected] or call (02) 9977 6411.
